Course Description:

Electrical Level I will be an introduction to safety on the job, writing a job description, terms of the trade, basic electron theory, a review of math skills, DC Theory, energy and power, electrical conductors and wire sizes, batteries, magnets and magnetic fields. Also covered are generation of electromotive force, basic understanding of motors and generators, introduction into the code book, grounding and practical writing, diagrams and switching. The class concludes with an exam. If students pass they will proceed to Electrical 2.

TIER V PROGRAM IS FOR the Licensed Apprentice Plumber seeking to obtain a Master Plumber License. Tier I, II, III and IV or equivalent or a Journeyman Plumber License required. Pending Enrollment. This code and theory course consists of 55 hours of the Massachusetts plumbing and gas code review as well as service and troubleshooting plumbing problems in the field. MACWIC Level 2 will prepare you for the Entry Level Machine Operators and Inspectors Manufacturing Skills Credential that will give employers a clear picture of the skills you have to land a Machine Operators or Inspector position in the manufacturing workplace. The MACWIC 2 course is an introduction to manufacturing technology and includes: the fundamentals of shop safety and critical safety features related to manufacturing equipment; CNC milling technology working with industrial based equipment to machine parts; CNC Turning technology working with industrial based equipment to machine parts; CNC Programming compliments the CNC Turning and CNC milling to learn new G&M code commands; GD&T overview of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing to familiarize the student with its use and application of the shop floor.

Upon completion of the course, all students will be eligible for the MACWIC Level 2 exam given at the end of the class to earn a MACWIC 2 certicicaiton. Students will also complet a resume and take part in mock interviews, matching students and thier competencies with employers who have job openings.
