Course Description:

BEGINNING AUTOCAD - AutoCAD is widely used by architects, mechanical designers, civil engineers and landscape designers as a design and drafting tool.  In this beginner course you will learn to draw, dimension, add layers and print various two-dimensional drawings.  We will also begin using paper space and viewports.  Each topic covered will accompany a hands on exercise in order to build comfort and confidence with AutoCAD.  All materials, such as handouts and tutorials are included.  NO TEXTBOOK REQUIRED.  PREREFQUISITE:  BASIC COMPUTER SKILLS.

Course Description:

Revit Architecture is a powerful Building Information Modeling program (BIM) that works the way architects think. The program streamlines the design process through the use of a central 3D model, where changes are made in one view and update across all views.
This course will teach you Revit functionality. You will learn basic drawing, editing and viewing tools. you will also learn design development tools such as modeling walls, doors, windows, stairs, ceilings, floors, etc. The course will take a project based approach to learning AutoDesk Revit's architectural tools. Class may extend into spring depending upon project completion.

Prior to teaching, Laura worked for Phase Zero Design, an architectural firm located in Hingham, MA where she was responsible for completing site surveys, drafting construction documents and creating renderings for various constructions projects. Laura earned a Bachelor of Science in Architecture and Interior Design from  Wentworth Institute of Technology.

Course Description:

AutoCAD is a 2-dimensional software that is used by many architects, engineers, and designers to create various types of drawings. The AutoCAD topics covered in this Level 1 course include an introduction to AutoCAD features, starting and setting up drawings, drawing, and editing commands, with an emphais on proper quick key command use, as wellk as block creation and usage, dimensioning and annotation.
The class will begin by learning the basic AutoCAD commands to create simple drawings and building upon those commands throughout the course to create more complex drawings. this course will cover how to create a titleblock as a border for all of our drawings. We will also learn how to create some architectural drawings such as floor plans, elevations, foundation plans, etc.
