This course is designed to introduce students, safely and accessibly, to the basic asanas, breathing techniques, and relaxation methods of yoga. Over the cousre of the semester, students will experience the benefits of stretching, moving and breathing freely as they move through a weekly vinyasa. In addition to learning correct alignment and poses, students will also be introduced to the history of yoga, the various types of yoga and a variety of yogic principles. The aim of this course is to promote vibrant health and to develop the skills, knowledge and interest to maintain a regular yoga practice. 

A yoga mat and two blocks are required for this course.
