Student must have Basic Computer Knowledge, Medical
As a blended/hybrid course there will be Two 3-hour In-School Class Blended
with 3 hour Online Web Computer Instructor led; Student interactive class each week for 6 weeks
Monday and Wednesday in school classes and Friday Online Web
Online classes are required curriculum. Coding I and Coding II are set up to meet AAPC
requirements for taking the CPC (Certified Professional Coder) exam.
This Coding Program is Part 1 of 2 Parts designed with a
hands-on approach for medical coding within a Physician/Outpatient Facility
with ICD and CPT Manuals, using scenarios and coding problems. Students will follow
required guide-lines, medical compliance and correct
sequencing with multiple diagnosis and procedure codes, a concentration on use
of Modifiers, and with an emphasis on accuracy. The instructors will provide
the practical materials used in today’s Medical Office
so that students will gain the necessary understanding
of a Medical Coder in a Medical facility. The student can continue on to Coding II to
prepare for Certification Exam with AAPC.
