This online course will help you better deal with the many legal and ethical issues that you as a health care professional will face every day. The topics are derived from real-life experiences and dilemmas from a variety of health care practitioners. You will practice critical thinking skills to decide how to resolve the real life situations or theoretical scenarios, determine why the court made a particular ruling and decide if the issues are relevant to the health care profession you will practice. In addition, you will discover how to communicate and relate to patients from various cultural backgrounds. This course is a required prerequisite for several programs including: Medical Assistant, EKG Technician, Diagnostic Technician, Patient Care Technician. Students are required to purchase the following textbook prior to the start of class.
