MEDICAL ASSISTANT ADMINISTRATIVE AND CLINICAL
This fast-paced 4-month course includes both administrative and clinical medical assistant theory and skills content. Administrative duties will be taught completely online and will include patient registration, scheduling, financial duties, business concepts, and electronic health record maintenance. The clinical skills will include aseptic techniques, vital signs, rooming the patient, electronic medical record documentation, sterile technique and gloving, assisting with minor surgical procedures, assisting with the physical examination, physical therapy modalities, pharmacology and medication administration, phlebotomy, EKGs, and emergency preparedness for the medical office.
The 4th month of this course will be a mandatory 120-hour externship. This externship MUST BE completed in 3 weeks at 40-hours per week. No part-time externships are permitted.
The course textbooks, homework, quizzes and tests will be available online through the McGraw-Hill CONNECT website. This information will be given to the student once registration and payment have been received.

Days/Time: Monday & Wednesday Evenings, 6p-9pm onsite at Upper Cape Tech
: Weekly online administrative course content will be required.
